I am able to utilise my 29 year plus business skills and experiences at Honda, and the clients I have worked with since starting HCMS, to help companies manage projects and positively change their business, particularly (but not exclusively) around Procurement.

Case Studies
Project Leader for the consolidation of circa £750m/yr indirect spend across the whole of Honda in Europe (36 separate entities). Previously, each entity had it's own Indirect Procurement Function, so there was limited joined up sourcing strategies. I focused on stakeholder and change management, using my strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to keep the project on track. One major element was outsourcing the low value, high volume tactical spend to a third party provider. Very significant improvements were achieved, including service levels, governance, strategic sourcing and cost savings.
Legal Contract negotiations with Honda Tier 1 direct suppliers. There can be a large gap between Procurement / Sales terminology and detailed Legal contract terminology which can lead to very slow progress in signing off agreements. I have been fortunate to be able to bridge this gap. By applying a fair and balanced approach, I have been able to reach consensus and ultimately have all parties sign off legal agreements to enable the daily business to run effectively. I was also used as an internal legal advisor within the Procurement Function at Honda for both local and global agreements with Honda Tier 1 direct suppliers: I have successfully negotiated with both the commercial and legal departments of numerous global suppliers including ZF, Bosch, Inalfa, & TRW.
Communicating Strategic Direction both internally and externally. Responsible for the annual communication of Honda in Europe’s strategic direction to it's Tier 1 suppliers. I led the process from story board creation and fixing key messages, through to ensuring speech and presentation content was suitable for presenting to circa 300 Top Executives from the global supply base. I have also presented and been Master of Ceremonies at this annual event.
